You guys/gals are amazing!!!

Last Wednesday night was one of the greatest and all of you SO ROCK!

For those that missed it I will sum it up:

We started with the regular L.I.F.E. ministry that we are in and the students are pumped! The theme was: FAVORITE TEAM and just about everyone was dressed up and looking fine.

Sidenote: HOW DID WE FIT EVERYONE IN THAT ROOM? :-)

We are doing some games: 1) Carpisun Drinking Contest
2) Banana Eating/Cherry stem tieing relay

Both games go great and lead right into the lesson:

QUICK SUMMARY: People who do not know you can not know your heart, they only know what they see on the outside! So let your outside actions speak LOUD!!!! To think I summed up what took about 15 minutes to say!!

OKAY HERE IS WHERE I GET EMOTIONAL!

So we are finished and some adults start yelling for everyone to sit down b/c we are not done. Then in walks Tyler & Bethany with a bag full of cards & a HUGE balloon full of money. It was all a setup to let Amy & I know how much we are appreciated & loved. Can I tell you I heard the message LOUD & CLEAR.

That night Amy & I sat down and read every card!

SO PLEASE KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU ALL & THANK YOU!!!! The surprise was awesome!

Blown Away by your kindness,
Mickey

THE PLAN

Most people's biggest problem in reaching their friends/family/co-workers with the gospel is the lack of a plan. Well after last night, you have no excuse. For those of you that missed (aka: Jonas' Brothers Concert) let me catch you up.

Thus far THE PLAN includes:
1) Understanding that Salvation is for TODAY!!!!
2) Make sure you're in a right relationship w/ Christ (YOU FIRST!)
3) Make a list of all the people you know
4) Identify your "people you know list" by placing a cross beside the ones you know have a right relationship w/ Christ, place an x by those you know that have no relationship w/ Christ, an a question mark by those you are not sure about
5) Make a list of at least five people from your list that have either an x of ? mark by their name
6) Start targeting them w/ your prayers and opprotunities to talk to them about coming to church w/ you!

Please note: this method is what we are doing to have A PLAN to reach our friends with the gospel. Their are many different plans!! But to not plan at all to tell your friends about Christ will surely result in a fruitless life.

Next wednesday night (at Ignite), Mickey concludes the last step of THE PLAN!!!

GET ON THE PLAN,
Mickey

The GREAT Eight!!

What is the great eight? I'm so glad you asked!!

The eight weeks from Sept. 1 -Oct. 26 are setting up to be a God send for our student ministry! Over those eight weeks Grace Point will:

Sept. 3 (6:15-8:15) - Retro Skate Party at Cleveland Skate Place - Cost: $5 per person
Sept. 24 (morning) - See You At The Pole - Local School Campus
Sept. 24 (6:30-8:30) - See You After The Pole Community Rally - NCCOG
Oct. 24-26 - "42" Weekend - Disciple Now type event

Including a new Wednesday night concept from Sept 3-Oct. 22 called L.I.F.E., that integrates a theme every week (ex. Sept. 3 Retro Skate Party), games, and competetion to give Ignite a fresh look for eight weeks.

PS - the winning team from L.I.F.E. goes to "42" Weekend for free!!!!!!

VERTICAL CAFE Bible Study (sunday nights at 6:00 PM) STARTS BACK UP SEPTEMBER 7!

So get ready for the GREAT EIGHT and I look forward to seeing how God changes our student ministry in an amazing way over those eight weeks!

I AM SO PUMPED!!!!,
Mickey

Get the bugs out!

After working on this blog for a couple of weeks, everything should be functioning properly. You should be able to:

Leave Comments, Watch The Slideshow, go to other links, & view everything!

The ironic aspect of this blog is that it has reminded me how much we have to do daily to keep things moving forward. Spiritually speaking... a daily time with God is crucial to getting everything we want people to see in us up and running properly. Without that daily time we do not realize that things are getting out of whack or our slideshow is not running (or worst what it is showing sometimes). So if you have not today, stop and thank God for who He is, think about how much He loves you (SO much - John 3:16), & ask him to forgive you where you have failed in order to clean up you slideshow.

LOOKING FORWARD TO JULY 26th & WELCOMING OUR NEW ROOKIES (6th graders)!

If you are going leave a comment saying YOUR IN and I will draw one name from the list to give them WELCOME WEEKEND FREE!

LOVE YOU ALL,
Mickey

Dead Period!

In the life of most of our student athletes the next two weeks are a huge break. Why? Because TSSAA (Tennessee Secondary School Atheletic Association) has declared the week prior and the week of July 4 as DEAD PERIOD. Basically this means that no atheletic activities can take place on any school campus during these two weeks in order to give atheletes a break. This has me thinking... When is the last time you stopped and took a break from your busy life? Scripture puts it this way, "Come to Me, all who weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest" - Matt. 11:28. I believe this is one of the reasons camp was so life changing for our students. It was the first time in a while that some of our students actually slow down long enough to see God work. So enjoy your summer full of sleepovers, camps, swimming, and baking you student minister fresh chocolate chip cookies and delivering them to his office b/c you love him, but do not forget to STOP, FOCUS ON JESUS, & REST!!!

I LOVE YOU KNUCKLEHEADS!

Do not forget Ignite this Wednesday and Summer Nights follows at the Chandlers!
