Please Pray!!!

Over the next few weeks the student ministry has many important ministries setup that we would like for everyone to be praying about:

MS Retreat at Camp Livingstone (Oct. 23-24)
Pray for safety, fun, and open hearts to God's awesome message of love

Fall Festival at YMCA (oct. 25 from 5-7 pm at the Cleveland YMCA)
pray that it will be more than just a fun event for our church, but that it would truely be a ministry in our community
HS Leadership Retreat at new Frontiers (Nov. 6-7)

Pray for safety, fun, and grasp of God's desire for true leadership and how our HS students can continue to do it.

Looking forward to telling everyone how things went,

Camp 2009 (June 28 - July 2)

Camp is approaching quickly and thanks to the 50+ students who registered early for this year's camp.
Details:
Crossroads Camp is at Fort Bluff Camp in Dayton, Tn (www.fbc-naca.org). This year's camp theme is two-fold: Morning study is S2AD (Spiritual 2 A Days) with Tony Eubanks, Chaplain for Clemson University; Nightly Worship studying "The World's Perceptions are not God's Reality" with David Allen, very funny illusionist. In the middle of the two studies put crazy group games, The Blob, Shaving Cream Fight, Putt-Putt, Fishing, Triathlon Competition, Ropes Courses, Dodegball, Water slide, etc... and you have a glimpse of this year's camp. Needless to say you do not want to miss it.

Cost:$250 per person

So for more info or if you have a question please contact us at (423) 728-5050

Twitter Tweets

The student ministry is now officialy twitters! I actually do not know what that means, but it sure sounds good. This will be a great to get info out to all students/adults through messages on twitter. In fact after you register your account you can have all the messages sent directly to your cell phone via text; PRETTY COOL! The student ministry will not send multiple messages everyday, but will use twitter for major announcements or plans (ex. registration deadlines, lunch plans during the summer, summer hangout locations, etc...). So go to

www.twitter.com

register an account

& choose to follow us at:

BIGGER than Big Creek!

Thank you to everyone who supported, prayed, or went on the spring break mission trip to Big Creek, Ky. The mission could not have went any better which is a testament to God's faithfulness to His people when they seek His will and follow after Him. The most exciting part of the mission is actually just now taking place. To watch the students change their lifestyle in order to live everyday as if they are on a mission is awesome. (The truth is that we are!) So remember leadership is ..... "Being willing to do all the work and give somebody else all the credit - Servant Leadership".

You can go to www.bigcreekmission.com to view photos.

Green Sock Classic is approaching quickly and it is a great opprotunity to raise money for camp. Go by the info desk and get the information or email me mclark@grace-point.com

FOR ERICA:
The Camp Theme for 2009 is ...... drum rolll, wait for it, wait....... , still waiting......

"PerCetIon is not always REALity"

This year our guest speaker is David Allen who will engage us with his illusions and lead us to realize the difference between the world's perceptions and God's REALITY!

Super Sunday INDEED Part II

WOW! Yesterday had to be one of the most amazing days and thank you to everyone who helped & made the Super Bowl Party an awesome ministry! As you can tell by the haircut; the students reached their goal & I have never been more excited to look like an idiot. Yesterday was truly a God situation and may God get all the credit & glory for the many decisions made for Jesus last night at the worship service.

Highlights:
1) Watching the students catch God's heartbeat by fasting & praying for 2 weeks!
2) Watching God be faithful and students accept Christ as their Lord & Savior!
3) Worship
4) Watching all the wonderful adults pull together and make the party run smooth!
5) Having the party be totally planned by our Sr. High! You guys ROCK.
6) Dodge ball!
7) Lastly, MOHAWK!
8) The memories of hanging out and planning the event with a bunch of great students.
aka: more tea for bear
9) Everyone bring their friends & having 208 students at the ministry event
10) Having such a great time that I could not tell you a thing about a single commercial or the game (outside of the last 5 minutes)

Put on your Jersey and let the world know!

A Great Big Do Over!

I love the New Year! Why? B/c no matter how bad you failed at last year's plans & goals you get a fresh start. The whole world looks at the New Year as fresh start. A fresh start to....
Excerise/Workout
Eat Healthy
Quit A Bad Habit (this applies mainly to UGA fans! ha,ha)
Work Less/Spend Time with Family More
etc......

Ironically, most poeple will start 2009 with the same with the same goals as 2008. Unfortuantely most people forget that "if you do what you always have done; you will get what you have always gotten."

So in 2009 lets make some great goals & make sure that God is a vital part of them, but lets also remember that we must change our approach and efforts to accomplish something new.

Go Titans,
Mickey
